Prof. Vangelis Tzouvelekas-ASSEE Academic Director
Dept of Economics, University of Crete 

He is Professor of Microeconomic Theory and Policy at the Department of Economics, University of Crete. He has a B.Sc. in Economics from University of Pireaus and a PhD in Agricultural Economics and Policy from University of Wales, Aberystwyth. His research experience includes production economics and duality theory, applied microeconometrics and economics of innovations. He has also participated in several international and National research projects and he has published his work in relevant academic outlets including European Economic Review, American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Economic Inquiry, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management and Journal of Productivity Analysis among others. He has held visiting positions at the University of Cyprus, Warwick Business School and the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute (at Chania). 

Ass. Prof. Margarita Genius-ASSEE Managing Director
Dept of Economics, University of Crete 

She is Associate Professor of Applied Econometrics at the Department of Economics, University of Crete. She got her B.Sc. in Economics from the University of Barcelona and her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, San Diego. She has held an Assistant Professor position at the Department of Economics, University of Michigan. Her research experience is applied econometrics in the areas of environmental economics, production economics and natural resources. She has participated in several National and European projects and her research has been published in academic journals such as Economics Letters, American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Environmental and Resource Economics and Resource and Energy Economics.

Prof. Spiro Stefanou-ASSEE Academic Advisor
Dept of Food and Resource Economics, University of Florida 

He is Professor and Chair of Food and Resource Economics at the University of Florida and currently holds a part-time appointment in the Business Economics Group at Wageningen University (Netherlands).   He received a B.A. in anthropology from George Washington University in 1977, an M.S. in agricultural and resource economics from the University of Maryland in 1979, and a Ph.D. in agricultural economics from the University of California, Davis in 1983. His research interests focus on productivity analysis, innovation and efficiency. He was Professor of Agricultural Economics at Penn State University since 1983. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association and was a Marie Curie Senior Fellow at the University of Crete, Mansholt Senior Fellow at Wageningen University, and Jean Monnet Fellow at the European University Institute.  He has been a visiting professor at the Institute for Advanced Studies, and the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute at Chania. He is presently the Managing Editor of Applied Economic Perspectives and Policy in addition to being past editor of the American Journal of Agricultural Economics..

Dr Konstantinos Chatzimichael- ASSEE KAM Manager
Dept of Commerce, Finance and Shipping, Cyprus University of Technology 

He is currently special scientist at the Department of Commerce, Finance, and Shipping, Cyprus University of Technology, and part-time lecturer at Cyprus Institute of Marketing. He got his B.Sc. in Economics from University of Crete. He holds a PhD in microeconomics from University of Crete. His research interests cover the fields of Production Economics, Economics of Productivity and Innovation, and Panel Data Econometrics. His research has been published in the Journal of Productivity Analysis and in the Food Policy. He has also participated in several European and National research project.

Ast Prof. Daphne Nicolitsas-ASSEE Scientific Committee
Dept of Economics, University of Crete 

Daphne Nicolitsas joined the Department of Economics of the University of Crete in March 2014 having worked for a number of years in the Economic Research Department of the Bank of Greece, the Research Unit of the Council of Economic Advisers in the Greek Ministry of Economics and Finance and the financial sector. Her main research interests lie in labour economics and empirical industrial organization, fields in which she has publications in international journals. Daphne holds a PhD from the University of Manchester, an MPhil from the University of Oxford and BA from the Athens School of Economics and Business.
 

Prof. Pantelis Kalaitzidakis-ASSEE Scientific Committee
Dept of Economics, University of Crete 

He is currently Professor of Macroeconomics at the Dept of Economics, University of Crete. He got his B.Sc. in Economics from the Athens University of Economics and Business and his Ph.D. from the Columbia University. He has held position at the Dept of Economics, Unversity of Cyprus. His research interests include economic growth and convergence. He has a series of publications in the most prestigeous academic outlets and he is the author of the textbook Economic Growth: Theory and Policy. He has participated in several national and european research projects.  

Prof. Konstantinos Mattas-ASSEE Scientific Committee
Dept of Agricultural Economics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki 

He is currently Professor of Agricultural Policy at the Dept of Agricultural Economics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. His research experience includes inter-industry analysis with specialization to Input-Output models, Rural Development, Food and European Policy and analysis. His experience is broadened by his employment as a manager in an enterprise of processing agricultural products and by his employment at the Ministry of Agriculture for several years. He is an expert in impact and policy analysis and has served in several relevant EU and National Food Policy Committees. He is the editor of Agricultural Economics Review and a member of the editorial boards of other scientific journals. He also served for six years as a member of the Board of the European Association of Agricultural Economists (EAAE). 

Prof. George Kouretas-ASSEE Scientific Committee
Dept of Business Administration, Athens University of Economics and Business 

He is currently Professor of Banking and Finance at the Department of Business Administration at the Athens University of Economics and Business and holder of the Jean Monnet Chair on European Economic Policy. He is Director of the Master of Business Administration-MBA (Sep. 2012-present). He has been Director of the Ph.D. Programme of the Department of Business Administration (Oct. 2008-Jan. 2014). He obtained a B.A. in Economics from the University of Piraeus (1981), M.A in Economics from the University of Notre Dame (1983), M.A. in Economics from Wayne State University (1985), and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Birmingham (1988).

Dr Andreas Procopiou-ASSEE Teaching Assistant
Dept of Commerce, Finance and Shipping, Cyprus University of Technology 

Dr. Andreas Procopiou is special scientist at the Department of Commerce, Finance and Shipping, Cyprus University of Technology. He is also PhD candidate at the Cyprus University of Technology in the field of strategic management.   He had earned his BEng in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Manchester.  He holds a PhD degree in Bioinformatics from the University of Sheffield. His specific research topic was the application of several pattern recognition algorithms in order to identify protein structures from circular dichromism data.  He specializes in methodology and his research interests include strategic management, machine learning, multidimensional scaling, linear and non-linear regressions and self-organizing maps.

Μrs Dimitra Vogiatzi-ASSEE Secretary
Centre for Research and Studies, University of Crete 

She works at the Center for Research and Studies of the University of Crete and she provides administrative assistance in European research projects (FP7, LLP, H2020,). She holds a B.Sc. in Economics and a M.Sc. in Economic Theory and Policy from the University of Crete. She holds a Bachelor in Primary Education from the University of Crete and a certificate from the Programme of Pedagogical Training at the School of Pedagogical and Technical Education.
